John Green - FDR Centre Founder and Director
I have specialised in the design and delivery of fully administered dispute resolution services for 26 years, as mediator, adjudicator or arbitrator, in well over 1160 cases. I have always been extremely passionate about designing and providing alternative dispute resolutions processes that are fair, robust and accessible to everyone - the launch of the FDR Centre is no exception.
I established the FDR Centre in response to government reforms in 2014, which changed the way parents and guardians are required to manage care and contact arrangements for children.
I very much support the government’s objective of helping families to self-resolve family disputes by mediation, instead of forcing people through the stressful and often lengthy court process. This way, parent and guardians get to make decisions about their children, rather than a judge who doesn’t know the family members at all. FDR mediation also allows people to gain skills and confidence to resolve any future problems.
The FDR Centre has now evolved from offering just FDR mediation and counselling services to include more general family services. We saw a growing need for a wider offering of services outside of Care and Contact of children disputes, as there are so many challenges and conflicts that can affect families these days.
We have also established specialist Family Law services to help with Relationship Property disputes and Trust, Will & Estate disputes. We hope that we can cover all bases for our clients, given that no family dispute is ever the same.
My dedicated team and I are available to assist you and your family through what can be a challenging time, so please give us a call or explore this website further.
