Anneke Muijlwijk

FDR Mediation

Anneke loves working with individuals, couples and families who want to address aspects of their lives and/or relationships. She has been trained in NZ, Australia and the Netherlands and has over 25 years counselling experience, including 16 years with the Family Court and 7 years as a Family Dispute Resolution Mediator.

Some of her qualifications include, Bachelors Social Geography and Masters Town and Regional Planning (hons) (Amsterdam), Masters Fine Art (distinction) (Melbourne), Post Graduate Diploma Education/Guidance Studies, Certificate in Community Counselling Skills (with distinction), Teaching Diploma, Counselling Couples Certificate, Introduction to Supervision Certificate. She is an Accredited mediator (LEADR/FDR), a Registered Member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors, an Accredited Family Court counsellor, an Accredited counsellor for various organisation (including Min of Justice, Oranga Tamariki, Mahi Tahi PHO, EAP providers including Benestar, Raise, EAP Auckland, OCP and Instep).

Anneke draws on a variety of modalities & therapies, including ACT/Mindfulness, CBT, Problem Solving Therapy, TA, Interactive Drawing Therapy, Systems, Gestalt and Narrative. Depending on the needs of the client she will focus on support, communication, exploring of feelings and patterns of thinking, problem-solving or tools and techniques to resolve or help cope with the present life situation and move forward. Most of all, she will provide a safe and comfortable space for clients to talk about whatever is foremost on their mind and will try to help the client make sense of whatever is happening in their lives. Her mediation service includes safe, confidential exploration towards creative, mutually acceptable solutions enabling clients to move forward.

Finally, on a more personal note, Anneke migrated from Holland to New Zealand in 1982; she has two adult children with her late-husband Pieter and is ‘Oma’ to the little ones. She likes to balance her work with her Visual Art practice and her waka ama passion.
