Sue is an experience Family Dispute Resolution Counsellor/Mediator who has worked in the area of Family Court Counselling for the past 25 years. In 2009 She trained and qualified as a professional mediator and has also acted as a mediator for employment , and religious organisations. In 2014 Sue trained and qualified as a professional Family Dispute Resolution Mediator with Restoration Institute and since that time has completed many successful Family Dispute Meditations for the Family Dispute Centre. Sue is called upon twice yearly to assist in the coaching of those who are training to become mediators.

She is also holds a qualification in Child Mental Health – Otago University and therefore is able to act as a Child inclusive Specialist in Mediation cases.

Sue is also trained as an Elder Care Mediator and Restorative Circles Facilitator. She has experienced personally the myriad of emotional and practical issues that face a family member who unexpectedly has to care, find appropriate supports, select rest home services, and deal with financial issues for a loved one who has no capacity to do so for themselves. This experience can be totally overwhelming and place a heavy burden on all concerned.

Due to Sue’s vast experience in mediation and her personal experience as a family member of a loved one who has needed support she has a passion to assist families that are facing this emotional upheaval and facing difficulties coping situations and decisions.

Sue is delighted to be a facilitator for Korero Tahi Elder Care Circle pilot which she enthusiastically supports.
